Welcome to Japanese Akita Kennel «Tenjoukai Kensha» in Ioannina
Antonis Katsaounos & George Trompoukis, who had a love for animals and especially for dogs from an early age, made their dream come true, the foundation of the Japanese Akita Kennel in Ioannina «Tenjoukai Kensha».
Breeding is our passion and hobby, which we try to pursue with high standards and professionalism.
Our Kennel is registered with the FCI and the Kennel Club of Greece with registration number 084/15, and we are both Founding Members of the Akita Club of Greece.
Our dogs have been awarded at various shows and have run all necessary tests that make them suitable for reproduction.

Akita: The charming Japanese
Akita originates from the city Odate in the Akita district of the island Honshu. From a long time ago, Odate was known as the “city of dogs”.
Akita is a complex, unique, full of contradictions dog.
Its character is evident through its wild, investigatory and often reflective look.
Due to its nature it’s not hyperactive and it doesn’t need much of exercise. It enjoys living as a member of the family inside the house where it enjoys spending its time calmly.
